Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Adel Azar was born in 1966 in city of Dehloran, Ilam Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He received his B.A. degree in industrial management in 1988 from Allameh Tabatabaee University, Tehran, Iran. His M.A. was in industrial management from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, Iran and it was received in 1991. The Ph.D. degree of Dr. Azar was in Industrial Management (Operational Research) from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran. The degree was received in 1995.
Dr. Azar has held varieties of academic, research, management and executive positions in different Iranian institutions/organizations. Some of his positions are as follows:

• Statistical researcher, university professor and manager of statistical projects since 1991.
• Member of Scientific –Strategic Commission of the Expediency Discernment Council , 2008-2010
• Member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), 2004-2008
• Dean of Faculty of Humanities in Tarbiat Modares University from 2001 to 2003
• Head of Iran Management and Productivity Study Centre (Tarbiat Modares University ) 1997- 2001
• Member of the Board of Trustees in Tarbiat Modares University since 2011
• Member of the Board of Trustees in Ilam University since 2010
• Member of the Auditing Board in Tarbiat Modares University since 2010

Dr. Azar has authored 12 scientific books and 135 scientific papers
(presented in internal and international levels). He has also translated 3 scientific books into Persian and has conducted 37 research projects.
Dr. Azar has been acting as the Head of the Statistical Centre of Iran since April 2010
