According to the results of the survey on the livestock slaughter in the national slaughterhouses in the year 1401, cattle and calves with 293.4 thousand tons account for 49 percent of the total weight of red meat supplied in the country, followed by sheep and lambs with 254.8 thousand tons (42.6%), goat and kids with 38.8 thousand tons (6.5%), and other types of livestock with 11.3 thousand tons (1.9%), respectively.
