National Consumer Price Index by Expenditure Deciles: in the Month of Khordad of the year 1398

The national inflation rate for the month of Khordad of the year 1398 stood at 37.6 percent, fluctuating between 37.1 percent for the first decile (those with the lowest income) and 40.2percent for the tenth decile (those with the highest income), among the expenditure deciles. The range of the twelve-month inflation changes in the major group of "food, beverages and tobacco" was between 52.2 percent for the first decile and 57.8 percent for the tenth decile. The major group of "non-food items and services” also saw these fluctuations ranging from 25.2 percent for the first decile to 36.3 percent for the tenth decile*.

Inflationary gap in deciles

According to the inflation rates for the expenditure deciles, the deciles inflationary gap in this month stood at 3.0 percent showing a 0.1 percentage point increase compared with the previous month (2.9 percent). The inflationary gap in the major groups of "food, beverages and tobacco” and "non-food items and services" increased by 0.6 and 0.9 percentage points, respectively in contrast to the previous month.
