The general index (base year: 1390=100) for households in the total country, urban areas and rural areas in the month of Mehr (23 September - 22 October 2017) of the year 1396 shows 255.5, 253.0 and 266.1, respectively which increased by 1.1, 1.2 and 0.7 percent for the total country, urban and rural areas, respectively in contrast to the preceding month.
1. The general index for total country, urban and rural areas increased by 8.7, 8.6 and 9.1 percent, respectively compared to the corresponding month in the previous year (point-to-point inflation), and grew by 0.6 percentage point for the total country and urban areas and 0.8 percentage point for rural areas over the same information in the previous month. Percentage changes in the general index (inflation rate of consumer goods and services for households) for the 12 months ending to the month of Mehr of the year 1396 were 8.2 percent for the total country, 8.0 percent for urban areas and 9.1 percent for rural areas in contrast to the corresponding period of the previous year, which grew by 0.2 percentage point over the same information in the previous month for total country, urban and rural areas.
2-The CPI for the major group of "Food, Beverages and Tobaccos" in this month for the total country, urban and rural areas reached 299.4, 301.5 and 294.3 which went up by 0.1 and 0.2 for the total country and urban areas and decreased by 0.2 percent for rural areas compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of “Food, Beverages and Tobacco “increased by 11.3 percent for the total country, 11.4 for urban areas, and 11.0 percent for rural areas, respectively in contrast to the corresponding month in the previous year. Percentage changes in this group for the 12 months ending to the month of Mehr of the year 1396 were 11.5 percent for the total country and urban areas and 11.7 percent for rural areas compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The index of the major group of “Food” in the mentioned month reached 296.8, 299.3 and 290.7 for the total country, urban areas and rural areas, respectively, which remained unchanged for the total country and increased by 0.2 percent for urban areas and decreased by 0.3 percent for rural areas compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of “food” increased by 11.4 percent for the total country, 11.,5 percent for urban areas and 11.1 percent for rural areas as compared to the corresponding month in the previous year. The 12-month inflation rates of this group were 11.7 percent for the total country and urban areas and 11.8 percent for rural areas.
3. The index of the major group of "non-food items and services" for the total country, urban areas and rural areas in the month of Mehr of the year 1396 reached 238.1, 236.3, and 247.1, respectively which increased by 1.7 percent for the total country and urban areas and 1.4 percent for rural areas compared to the previous month. Moreover, the index of the major group of "non-food items and services" rose by 7.5 percent for the total country, 7.4 percent for urban areas and 7.7 percent for rural areas compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. The 12-month inflation rates of this group for ending to the month of Mehr of the year 1396 were 6.5 percent for the total country, 6.4 percent for urban areas and 7.0 percent for rural areas over the corresponding period of the previous year.
