The general index (base year: 1390=100) for households in the total country, urban areas and rural areas in the month of Shahrivar (23 August - 22 September 2017) of the year 1396 shows 252.7, 249.8 and 264.3, respectively which did not have any change for the total country while it increased by 0.10 and 0.6 percent for urban and rural areas, respectively in contrast to the preceding month. The general index for total country, urban and rural areas grew by 8.1, 8.0 and 8.3 percent, respectively compared to the corresponding month in the previous year (point-to-point inflation), and dropped by 0.1 percentage point for the total country and urban areas and 0.6 percentage point for rural areas over the same information in the previous month. Percentage changes in the general index (inflation rate of consumer goods and services for households) for the 12 months ending to the month of Shahrivar of the year 1396 were 8.0 percent for the total country, 7.8 percent for urban areas and 8.9 percent for rural areas in contrast to the corresponding period of the previous year, which grew by 0.1 percentage point over the same information in the previous month for total country, urban and rural areas.
2-The CPI for the major group of "Food, Beverages and Tobaccos" in this month for the total country, urban and rural areas reached 299.1, 301.0 and 295.0 which decreased by 1.5, 1.2 and 2.2 percent, respectively compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of “Food, Beverages and Tobacco “increased by 10.1 percent for the total country and urban areas, and 10.2 percent for rural areas, respectively in contrast to the corresponding month in the previous year. Percentage changes in this group for the 12 months ending to the month of Shahrivar of the year 1396 were 11.3 percent for the total country and urban areas and 11.4 percent for rural areas compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The index of the major group of “Food” in the mentioned month reached 296.6, 298.8 and 291.5 for the total country, urban areas and rural areas, respectively, which decreased by 1.6 , 1.3 and 2.4 percent, compared to the previous month, respectively. The index of the major group of “food” increased by 10.2 for the total country and urban areas and 10.3 percent for rural areas, respectively as compared to the corresponding month in the previous year and the inflation rate of the 12 months of this group was 11.4 percent for the total country and urban areas and 11.5 percent for rural areas.
3. The index of the major group of "non-food items and services" for the total country, urban areas and rural areas in the month of Shahrivar of the year 1396 reached 234.2, 232.3, and 243.6, respectively which increased by 0.7 percent for the total country and urban areas and 0.8 percent for rural areas compared to the previous month. Moreover, the index of the major group of "non-food items and services" rose by 7.1 for the total country and urban areas and 6.8 percent for rural areas compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. The inflation rates of this group for the 12 months ending to the month of Shahrivar of the year 1396 were 6.4 percent for the total country, 6.3 percent for urban areas and 6.9 percent for rural areas over the corresponding period of the previous year.
