Agricultural products, from the production finishing stage to the final consumption have diverse prices due to different factors, which are commonly called farm gate price, wholesale price and retail price. In order to reach a price which solely comes from agricultural activities, it is necessary to omit elements such as transportation and warehousing costs, brokers' profit, and so on. The report describes producer price of agricultural products (farm gate price). By comparing the information obtained from this report with the results of the retail price surveys, the role of brokers and other elements effective in the formation of different prices when the products get to the final consumer can be reviewed.

Survey on the sale price of the agricultural products has started since the year 1353 and has been regularly implemented except for some periods. Calculation of the producer price index for the farming, horticulture and traditional livestock farm practices (the base year=1390) has started since the year 1395. The present report is pertinent to the given index in the spring of the year 1396¹. Accordingly, the producer price index of the farming, horticulture and traditional livestock farm practices (base year 1390=100) in the spring of the year 1396 is 258.3, which increased by 27.4 percent (seasonal inflation rate) compared to the previous season and 14.8 percent) compared to the corresponding season of the previous year, respectively. Also the percentage change in the four seasons ending to the current season is 4.7 percent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate).

Farming and Horticulture index

• The "farming and horticulture group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 270.2, which increased 14.6 and 38.8 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage changes in the four seasons ending to the current season increased 2.3 percent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate).

• The "cereal group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 231.4, which increased to 3.8 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and decreased by 8.6 percent in contrast to the previous season. Also the percentage changes in the four seasons ending to the current season increased by 5.1 percent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate).

• The "vegetable group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 269.5, which increased by 35.1 and 24.0 percent respectively compared to the corresponding season of the previous year and the previous season. Also the percentage changes in the four seasons ending to the current seasons increased by 5.9 percent compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate).

• The "fruit and dried fruits” group index in the spring of the year 1396 is 303.7, which increased 15.7 and 89.9 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage change in the four seasons ending to the current season decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year (annual inflation rate).

• The "non-classified raw material group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 216.3, which increased by 8.2 and 11.2 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage changes in the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased by 6.6 percent.

Traditional Animal Husbandry index

• The “traditional livestock farm practices” group index in the spring of the year 1396 is 232.6, which increased by 15.4 and 5.8 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage changes in the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased by 10.5 percent.

• The "goats and kids raising" group index in the spring of the year 1396 is 214.8, which increased by 24.7 and 8.7 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage change in the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased by 14.7 percent.

• The "traditional cattle and calves raising group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 225.7, which increased by 12.7 and 4.0 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season respectively. Also the percentage change of the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased 8.4 percent.

• The "sheep and lambs raising” group index in the spring of year 1396 is 226.7, which increased by 34.0 and 13.2 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season respectively. Also the percentage change of the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased by 18.6 percent.

• The "other animal products group" index in the spring of the year 1396 is 252.8, which increased by 4.2 and 1.7 percent compared to the corresponding season in the previous year and the previous season, respectively. Also the percentage change of the four seasons ending to the current season compared to the corresponding period in the previous year (annual inflation rate) increased to 6.2 percent.
