The report describes producer price of agricultural products (farm gate price).  By comparing the information obtained from this report with the results of the retail price surveys, the role of brokers and other elements effective in the formation of different prices when the products get to the final consumer can be reviewed.

The producer price index of the farming, horticulture and traditional livestock farm practices (base year 1390=100) in the year 1395 is 221.2 which increased 2 percent (annual inflation rate) compared to the previous year.

Summary

Agricultural products, from the finishing stage to the final consumption, undergoing various factors, develop diverse prices, which is commonly called farm gate price, wholesale price…. and retail price. In order to reach a price which is solely due to agricultural activities, it is necessary to dismiss elements such as transportation and warehousing costs, brokers' profit, and such. The report has concentrated on the agricultural products producer price (farm gate price), which thru their comparison with the retail price surveys results, one can realize the role of brokers and other effective elements in formation of different prices, till they get to the final consumer.

Survey plan on the agricultural products sale price has initiated from the year 1353 and has been performed regularly to the present day, except for some junctures. Calculation of the producer price index for the farming, horticulture and traditional animal husbandry, according to the base year 1390, has started on the year 1395. The present report has dealt with the referred index in the year 1395. Accordingly, the producer price index for the farming, horticulture and traditional animal husbandry (base year 1390=100) in the year 1395 is 221.2 which compared to the previous year has increased 2 percent (annual inflation rate).

Farming and Horticulture index

- The "farming and horticulture group" index in the year 1395 is 225.4, which compared to the previous year has decreased 0.2 percent.  

- The "cereal group" index in the year 1395 is 241.5, which compared to the previous year has increased 5.5 percent.

- The "fruit and seed edible fruit group" index in the year 1395 is 225, which compared to the previous year has decreased 2.6 percent.

- The "vegetable group" index in the year 1395 is 206.4, which compared to the previous year has decreased 4.5 percent.

- The "unclassified raw material group" index in the year 1395 is 218.4, which compared to the previous year has increased 3.1 percent.

Traditional Animal Husbandry index

-  The "traditional animal husbandry group" index in the year 1395 is 212.1, which compared to the previous year has increased 7.7 percent.

-  The "goats and kids raising group" index in the year 1395 is 185.7, which compared to the previous year has increased 9.5 percent.

-  The "traditional cattle and calves raising group" index in the year 1395 is 211.32, which compared to the previous year has increased 5.9 percent.

-  The "sheep and lambs raising group" index in the year 1395 is 186.9, which compared to the previous year has increased 10.9 percent.

-  The "other animal products group" index in the year 1395 is 245.3, which compared to the previous year has increased 7 percent.

A report on Producer Price Index for Agriculture, Horticulture, and Traditional Livestock Farm Practices (Adjusted) in the year 1395
