The Unemployment Rate of 12.6 Percent in the Spring 1396

The unemployment rate of population aged 10 and over shows that 12.6 percent of the active population (employed and unemployed) were unemployed. The review of the changes for this index show that this index experienced 0.4 and 0.1 percent rise in comparison with the spring 1395 and winter 1395, respectively.

In the spring 13961, 40.6 percent of the population aged 10 and over were economically active. This means that they lie either in the employed or the unemployed group. The review of the changes for the economic participation rate show that this rate increased 1.1 and 1.7 percent in comparison with the last corresponding season (Spring 1395) and the last season (Winter 1395), respectively. The unemployment rate of population aged 15-29 years shows that 26.4 percent of the economically active population were unemployed in the spring 1396. The review of the seasonal changes of unemployment rate show that this rate grew by 1.5 and 0.9 percent in comparison with the last corresponding season (spring 1395) and the last season (winter 1395), respectively. The review of the underemployment share tells that 10.2 percent of the total employed population have worked less than 44 hours per week due to economic reasons (work recession, not finding a job with more hours, or non-work season), but have been willing and ready to do more work in the spring 1396. This is while 40.9 percent of the employed population aged 15 and over have worked 49 hours and more per week. A review of the employment in major economic sectors indicates that the services sector holds the biggest share of employment with 49.8% of the total, followed by manufacturing sector with 31.5% and agriculture sector with 18.7% in the spring 1396.
