1- The general index (base year 1390=100) in the month of  Farvardin (21 March -20 April 2017) of the year 1396 shows 244.9 which has increased 1.8 percent in contrast to the preceding month. The increase in the general index was 9.4 percent compared to the corresponding month in the previous year (point-to-point inflation), which grew 1.4 percentage points over the same information in the previous month (8.0 percent). Percentage changes in the general index (inflation rate of consumer goods and services for urban households) for the 12 months ending to the month of Farvardin of the year 1396 was 6.9 percent in contrast to the corresponding period of the previous year, which grew 0.1 percentage point over the same information in the previous month (6.8 percent).

2-The CPI for the major group of "Foods, Beverages and Tobaccos" in this month reached 303.1, which increased 3.9 percent compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of " Foods, Beverages and Tobacco " increased 16.1 percent in contrast to the corresponding month in the previous year, and percentage changes in this group for the 12 months ending to the month of Farvardin of the year 1396 was 8.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, which rose 0.9 percent point in contrast to the inflation of the 12 months ending to the previous month (7.6 percent).  The index of the major group of “Foods” in the mentioned month reached 301.9, which increased 4.1 percent compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of foods increased 16.5 percent, as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and the inflation rate of the 12 months of this group was 8.4 percent.

3- The index of the major group of "non-foods and services" in the month of Farvardin of the year 1396 reached 224.9, which increased 0.8 percent compared to the previous month. The index of the major group of "non-foods and services" rose 6.6 percent compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, and the inflation rate of this group for the 12 months ending to the month of Farvardin of the year 1396 was 6.2 percent over the corresponding period of the previous year, which decreased 0.2 percent point in contrast to the inflation rate of the 12 months ending to the previous month (6.4 percent).
