Ms. Al-Adavi, Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Iran had a meeting with Dr. Adel Azar, Head of the SCI on Farvardin 23, 1395 (11 April, 2016). In this meeting which was held due to the beginning of the Iranian New Year and in line with expansion of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the country plan, the both parties emphasized on the expansion of relationship between their affiliated organizations. Besides, the Representative of the UNFPA pointed out that her organization is ready to provide the technical consultation to the SCI on the implementation of the Population and Housing Census which is scheduled to take place in the late October 2016.

In this meeting, Dr. Adel Azar expressed that the development of the comprehensive system of statistical registers and focusing on register-based census are among the long term plans of the SCI.

While referring to the possibility of cooperation of the UNFPA with the SCI on rendering consultations and sharing experiences of other countries in the field of statistical registers. Ms. Al-Adavi emphasized on the necessity of cooperation among UNFPA's partners in Iran.
