Improving Use of Administrative Data in Production of Official Statistics: Role of Statistical Register Systems

The Regional Workshop on Improving Use of Administrative Data in Production of Official Statistics: Role of Statistical Register Systems will be held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran from 12-16 September 2015.The workshop, organized by the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) is part of the training programme of the SIAP to improve technical capacity of national statistical systems (NSSs) of the region to produce official statistics from integrated statistical registers. The course will also provide a platform to share knowledge and demonstrate good practices in developing statistical registers from administrative registers. The workshop will be conducted in collaboration with SIAP and Statistical Centre of Iran, Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this workshop, 10 countries in Asia and the Pacific region as well as Islamic Republic of Iran are to participate.  The workshop is to be opened by the message from Dr. Adel Azar, the Head of the Statistical Centre of Iran, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, 12  September 2015 in the Statistical Research and Training Centre (SRTC).
