Labor force survey Summary findings Summer 1392

 

 

Findings

 Based on the results of labor force survey carried out in 1392 summer, the major labor force indicators have been presented in the table 1. Also, table 2 illustrates the changes in the labor force indicators as compared to the preceding season (1392 spring)  and to the corresponding season of the preceding  year (1391 summer).

 Analysis of the economic participation rate (activity rate) of the population aged 10 and over indicates that 39.1 percent of the population at working age (aged 10 and over) have been economically active that is to say they are included in the employed or unemployed population. In addition, the results show that the economic participation rate of female population compared to that of male population and in urban areas to rural areas has been lower. Also, review of changes in economic participation rate nationwide proves 1.1 percent rise of this rate compared to the corresponding season of the preceding year (1391 summer) and 0.2 percent decline of the same rate the pervious season (1392 spring)

 

Analysis of the unemployment rate of population aged 10 and over displays that 10.4 percent of the active population have been unemployed. Based on these results , the unemployment rate of female population compared to that of male population and urban areas to rural areas has been higher. Review of the trend of changes in unemployment rate nationwide indicates that this indicator compared to the corresponding season of the preceding year (1391 summer) has declined  1.9 percent and compared to the previous season (1392 spring) 0.2 percent.

 Analysis of the unemployment rate of population aged 15 and over shows that 10.4 percent of the active population have been unemployed. According to these results the unemployment rate of female population compared to that of male population and in urban areas to rural areas has been higher.

 The underemployment share indicates that 7.6 percent of the employed population have been underemployed. This indicator has been higher for male population than for male population in rural areas higher than urban areas.

 Analysis of employment in the major economic sectors indicates that the services sector with 46.5 percent has possessed the highest employment share and the manufacturing and agriculture sector enjoy the next ranks with 33.9 and 19.5 percents respectively.

 Analysis of the unemployment rate of the young population 15-24 years old reveals that 23.9 percent of the active population in this age group have been unemployed. This indicator has been higher for female population than for male population and in urban areas higher than rural areas. The review of the trend of changes in the unemployment rate of the young population 15-24 years old nationwide show that this indicator has declined 2.9 percent compared to corresponding season of the previous year and increased 1.0 percent to the previous season. Analysis of the unemployment rate of the young population 15-29 years old reveals that 21.1 percent of active 15-29 year old population have been unemployed. This indicator has been higher for female population than for male population and in urban areas higher than rural areas. Review of the trend of changes in the unemployment rate of the 15-29 year old young population indicates that this indicator has declined 3.5 percent compared to the corresponding season of the previous year and increased 0.8 percent to the previous season.

 Analysis of the share of the employed population aged 15 and over with routine 49 working hours and more reveals that 43.5 percent of the employed population have routinely worked over 49 hours per week. This indicator which is one of the indicators of the decent work shows that a considerable share of the employed population work more than the standard level in the country.
