Summary Results of the Survey on the Goods Clearance Institutions in the year 1399
The Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) conducted the survey on “the Goods Clearance Institutions” from the survey series on the national transportation establishments in the month of Aban, the year 1399 in order to provide the data needed for the compilation of the national and regional accounts for the year 1398 in the transportation sector. The SCI also conducted this survey in the years 1383, 1387, 1391 and 1394.
Data collection in this survey was a face-to-face interview via using a questionnaire. The generalization of the results of this survey to the total statistical population indicates that:
- There were 1042 operating goods clearance institutions in the nation in the year 1398.
- There were 4673 workers in these establishments (goods clearance institutions) which show that, on average, about 4 people were working in each establishment. Of these workers, 75.2% were wage and salaried workers, and 24.8% were unpaid ones.
- In the period under study, the compensation of the workers’ services in the goods clearance institutions was 1187 billion Rials which shows that the monthly payment to each wage and salaried worker of these establishments was on average 28.1 million Rials.
- The value of intermediate consumption of goods clearance institutions in the year 1398 is 719 billion Rials. Of this figure, 41.2% was for customs, 7.9% for inspection of goods, 1.9% for stationery, paper, printed forms, newspapers, publications, printed matter, and packaging supplies, and 6.3% for water, electricity, natural gas, and other fuels. 6.1% of the payment was for transportation and communication costs, 1.7% for commercial insurance (theft, fire, etc.), 22.9% for building rent, 2.2% for minor repairs of non-financial assets, and 9.8% for other intermediate consumption. Accordingly, the average value of intermediate consumption of each establishment was over 690 million Rials.
- The outputs value of goods clearance institutions in the year 1398 was over 2921 billion Rials. Of this figure, 73.8% were "commission received for the clearance of goods", 9.0% were received for "warehousing, cargo counting and measuring, and inspection and packaging of goods", and 15.1% were received for transportation, and 2.1% were related to other outputs. Accordingly, the average value of the outputs of each establishment was about 2804 million Rials.
- Based on the findings of this survey, the value-added of goods clearance institutions was 2202 billion Rials. It shows that the value-added of each establishment was 2114 million Rials indicating that this value has increased by 2.1 times in comparison with the results of the last survey in the year 1394.
