Summary results of the Survey on the Public Parking Lots in the year 1399[1]

The Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) conducted the survey on the public parking lots from the survey series on the national transportation establishments in the month of Aban, the year 1399 in order to provide the data needed for the compilation of the national and regional accounts for the year 1398 in the transportation sector. The SCI also conducted this survey in the years 1381, 1382, 1386, 1390, and 1394.

Data collection in this survey was a face-to-face interview and using a questionnaire. The generalization of the results of this survey in the total statistical population indicates that:

• There were 1782 operating public parking lots of the nation in the year 1398.
• There were 4437 employees in these establishments (public parking lots) showing that on average more than two persons were working in each establishment, out of which, 60.0 percent were wage and salary workers and 40.0 percent were unpaid wage and salary ones.
• During the given period, the service compensation for wage and salary workers in public parking lots was 570 billion Rials in the year 1398 representing that an average of 17.9 million Rials was monthly paid to each wage and salary worker.
• The value of intermediate consumption of the public parking lots was 743 billion Rials in the year 1398. Out of this amount, 2.8 percent was paid for stationery, paper, printed forms, newspapers, publications, printed matters, and packaging supplies, 8.6 percent for water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, 1.7 percent for communication and transportation expenditures, 1.8 percent for commercial insurances (theft insurance, fire insurance….), 77.5 percent for building rental, 2.5 percent for minor repairs of non-financial assets, and 5.1 percent for other types of intermediate consumptions. Accordingly, the value of intermediate consumption of each establishment was, on average, 417 million Rials.
• •          The output value of public parking lots in the year1398 was about 3597 billion Rials out of which 98.4 percent was for "parking fees" and 1.6 percent for other outputs. Based on these facts, the output value of each establishment was an average of over 2018 million Rials.
• Based on the findings of this survey, the value-added of public parking was 2854 billion Rials. It shows that the value-added of each establishment was 1601 million Rials indicating that this value has been almost tripled (2.9 times) in comparison with the results of the last corresponding survey in the year 1394.
