According to the results of the survey on the livestock slaughter in the national slaughterhouses in the year 1402, cattle and calves with 251 thousand tons account for 53.2 percent of the total weight of red meat supplied in the country, followed by sheep and lambs with 177 thousand tons (37.5%), goat and kids with 32 thousand tons (6.8%), and other types of livestock with 12 thousand tons (2.5%), respectively.
