Dr. Gudarzi was appointed as the Head of the Statistical Centre of Iran

The induction ceremony of Dr. Gholamreza Gudarzi to the position of the Head of the Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) and the farewell ceremony of Dr. Abuhamzeh, the former Head, was held on Wednesday, May 12 attended by Dr. Mombini, Acting Director of the Plan and Budget Organization’s Head, and the deputies and managers of the SCI.

Dr. Gudarzi, the new Head of the SCI, while congratulating on Teacher's Day and honoring the memory of the late Dr. Adel Azar, the then Head of the SCI, said: "My most important goal of being in SCI is to be in a scientific centre with an academic approach, and the jobs in the SCI should be carried out in a scholarly way. He emphasized: “Statistics should be fair, expert, defensible, transparent, realistic, professional, with accuracy and correctness. He added: "We should also develop a forward-looking view in the SCI and move with a forward-looking view and direction towards the intelligentization of the SCI." He also said that his other plans ahead at the SCI are to develop international interactions, more interaction with the national elites, to pay attention to public opinion to increase the society's trust in the accuracy and correctness of the released statistics by the SCI. Dr. Gudarzi regarded the reports released by the SCI as a mirror of the results of the performances, policies and measures. Therefore, in order to achieve this goal, he emphasized on the independence and strengthening of the SCI, enhancement of human capital and attention to the stakeholders of the statistical system, including the private sectors.

It should be mentioned that Dr. Gholamreza Gudarzi is a full professor of management, a member of the faculty and holds a PhD degree in industrial management from Tarbiat Modares University.
