Summary  Results of the Survey onthe Establishments with Auxiliary Activities on Air Transport, Travel Tours and Pilgrimage Caravans in the Year 1399[1]

In the month of Aban of the year 1399, the Statistical Centre of Iran implemented the Survey on” the Establishments with Auxiliary Activities on Air Transport, Travel Tours and Pilgrimage Caravans” from the survey series of “The National Transportation Establishments” with the aim of providing the data required for the compilation of national and regional accounts in the transportation sector in the activities related to these establishments for the year 1398. Before this year, the Statistical Centre of Iran had also implemented this survey in the years 1373, 1376, 1380, 1382, 1385, 1388, 1392, and 1395.

In the implementation of this survey in the year 1399, information collection was a face-to-face interview and using a questionnaire. The generalization of the results of the mentioned survey to the total statistical population shows that:

• There were 4264 Establishments with Auxiliary Activities on Air Transport, Travel Tours and Pilgrimage Caravans nationwide in the year 1398.
•  There were 31935 workers in these establishments (Establishments with Auxiliary Activities on Air Transport, Travel Tours and Pilgrimage Caravans) which shows that on average, more than seven persons were working in each establishment. Out of this number, 86.3 percent were wage and salary workers and 13.7 percent were unpaid wage and salary ones.
   
• In the given period, the compensation of services provided by workers in establishments with auxiliary activities on air transport, travel tours and pilgrimage caravans was 8281 billion rials which shows that on average, 25.0 million rials was monthly paid to each wage and salary worker.
• In the year 1398, the value of intermediate consumption of establishments with auxiliary activities on air transport, travel tours and pilgrimage caravans was about 12002 billion rials. Out of this amount, 76.0 percent was paid for air transportation costs, 10.8 percent for building rental and 13.2 percent for other intermediate consumption. Based on these figures, on average, the value of intermediate consumption of each establishment was about 2.8 billion rials.
   
• In the year 1398, the output value of establishments with auxiliary activities on air transport, travel tours and pilgrimage caravans was about 33903 billion rials out of which 31.1 percent was for charges received for selling flight tickets, 32.0 percent for operating sightseeing tours, 14.0 percent for operating pilgrimage tour, 22.8 percent for other related activities (charges received for selling bus and train tickets, accommodation reservation services, visa collection income, the income of brokerage services for freight and passenger transportation and income from international airlines agencies) and 0.1 percent for other outputs. Accordingly, on average, the output value of each establishment was about 8.0 billion rials.

• According to the findings of the survey implementation in the studied period, the value-added of the establishments with auxiliary activities on air transport, travel tours and pilgrimage caravans was 21901 billion rials which shows that the value-added of each establishment was 5.2 billion rials which has increased by 1.7 times in comparison with the results of the previous survey (the year 1395).
