Summary Results of the Survey on the Cargo Transportation Institutes and Companies in the year 1399[1]
The Statistical Centre of Iran (SCI) conducted the survey on the cargo transportation institutes and companies from the surveys series on the national transportation establishments in the month of Aban, the year 1399 in order to provide the data needed for compilation of the national and regional accounts in the transportation sector for the year 1398. The SCI also conducted this survey in the years 1379, 1380, 1383, 1386, 1389, 1392, and 1395.
Data collection in this survey was a face-to-face interview and using a questionnaire. The generalization of this survey’s results to the total statistical population indicates that:
- There were 4146 cargo transportation institutes and companies nationwide in the year 1398.
- There were 24,520 workers in these establishments (cargo transportation institutes and companies) indicating that, on average, about six workers were working in each establishment. Out of this number, 82.9 percent were wage and salary workers and 17.1 percent were unpaid wage and salary ones.
- The compensation of services provided by the cargo transportation institutes and companies workers was 6208 billion Rials in the year 1398 showing that the average monthly payment to every wage and salary worker was 25.5 million Rials.
- The value of intermediate consumption of the cargo transportation institutes and companies was 4671 billion Rials in the year 1398, out of which, 40.2 percent was payment for a commission fee, 2.4 percent for stationery, paper, printed forms, newspapers, publications, press matter and packaging supplies, 10.6 percent for water, electricity, gas and other fuels, 3.5 percent for communication and transportation expenditures, 10.9 percent for commercial insurances (theft insurance, fire insurance….), 7.4 percent for building rentals, 7.2 percent for minor repairs of non-financial assets, and 17.8 percent for other types of intermediate consumption. Based on these findings, the value of intermediate consumption of each establishment was, on average, 1127 million Rials.
- The output value of the cargo transportation institutes and companies in the year1398 was 36,244 billion Rials out of which 97.3 percent was for payment received as fare, commission, and charge for cargo transportation and 2.7 percent for other types of outputs. Based on this fact, the output value of each establishment was an average of 8742 million Rials.
- Based on the findings of this survey in the studied period, the value -added of the cargo transportation and companies was 31,573 billion Rials showing that the value-added of each establishment was 7615 million Rials indicating that this value has been doubled in comparison with the results of the last corresponding survey in the year 1395.
