Summary Results of the Survey on Storage Services Establishments in the Year 1399[1]

 

In the month of Aban[2] of the year 1399, the Statistical Centre of Iran implemented the “Survey of Storage Services Establishments” from the survey series of “The National Transportation Establishments” with the aim of providing the data required for the compilation of national and regional accounts in the transportation sector in the activities related to these establishments for the year 1398. Before, the Statistical Centre of Iran also implemented this Survey in the years 1366, 1370, 1373, 1377, 1380, 1382, 1385, 1388, 1391 and 1394.

In the implementation of this survey in the year 1399, information collection was a face-to-face interview and using a questionnaire. The generalization of the results of the mentioned survey to the total statistical population shows that::

There were 1835 storage services establishments nationwide in the year 1398.

  • There were 12187 employees in these establishments (Storage Services Establishments) which shows on average seven persons were working in each establishment out of which, 84.3 percent were wage and salary workers and 15.7 percent were unpaid wage and salary ones.
  • In the given period, the compensation of services provided by workers in storage services establishments was 3273 billion rials which shows that, on average, 26.5 million rials was monthly paid to each wage and salary worker.
  • In the year 1398, the value of intermediate consumption of storage services establishments was 2142 billion rials. Out of this number, 5.9 percent was paid for refrigerant gas, 4.0 percent for stationery, paper and printed forms, newspaper, publications, printed matters, and packaging supplies, 31.4 percent for water, electricity, natural gas, and other fuels, 4.2 percent for communication and transportation expenditures, 7.8 percent for commercial insurances (theft-insurance, fire insurance, etc.), 16.3 percent for building rental, 2.2 percent for the hiring of vehicles, machinery and equipment, 12.0 percent for minor repair of non-financial assets, and 16.2 percent for other intermediate consumption. Accordingly, the value of intermediate consumption of each of these establishments was an average of about 1.2 billion rials.
  • In the year 1398, the output value of storage services establishments was 12614 billion rials. Out of this number, 43.9 percent was paid for storage fees, 42.1 percent for cold storage fees, 10.8 percent for unloading and loading, and 3.2 percent for other outputs. Accordingly, the output value of each of these establishments was an average of 6.9 billion rials.
  • Based on the findings of the survey implementation in the studied period, the value-added of the storage services establishments was 10472 billion rials showing that the value-added of each establishment was 5.7 billion rials which has been tripled in comparison with the results of the previous survey (the year 1394).
